It's your birthday, your anniversary, a new job, your graduation, or maybe it's for no reason at all. For some reason, today is the day that you got fresh flowers delivered to your workplace or home! You are over the moon! You are full of joy! This special moment makes you feel incredible. This is part of the reason why we deliver flowers. It's because no matter what time of day it is, when someone gets flowered delivered to their home or at the job, they can't help but smile! However, what happens after the flower delivery? What happens after we deliver your beautiful, fresh, and bright flowers? How can you make these flowers last as long as your happiness? There are several methods on how to dry flowers to make them last for years, but we are going to tell you how you can keep your floral arrangement looking the same for weeks!
1.) Change the water every couple days.
Fresh water makes flowers happy. When flowers drink dirty water that's full of bacteria, the bacteria hurts the flowers which causes them to wilt faster.
2.) Give them a fresh cut every couple days.
After you change the water, cut the stems about an inch or so from the bottom to help the stems drink better.
3.) Trim any dead blooms or foliage.
When you trim what is not looking good on flowers, you are getting rid of parts of the flower that no longer need energy, which helps the flower to put its energy in getting other parts to bloom.
4.) Use cold water, not warm.
Hot water actually makes flowers bloom faster.
5.) Keep flowers in a cool place.
Never leave your flowers in the heat, especially a hot car! The heat causes flowers to dehydrate and wilt. You don't need the room to be freezing and certainly not drafty, but a cool comfortable area is perfect for flowers.
6.) Clean vase or container when changing the water.
Bacteria can still live on the container or vase you have the flowers in. Be sure to disinfect the vase thoroughly.
7. Use flower food.
A cap full of bleach works just as well. (seriously!) Quick Tip: Copper pennies help Tulips live longer.
8.) Check them daily.
Lots of people set their flowers down and forget that they need some love. The nest thing you know, they're wilted. Check on your flowers everyday, not only can you help them live longer, every time you see the beauty of the flowers, you can't help but smile!
